Female Profiling in Forensic and Kinship Cases

The GT XDetector kit consists of 17 STR markers of which 15 are specific to chromosome X, organized in 4 linkage groups. This kit can be used to differentiate female profiles, especially when complementary markers are needed in complex forensic, kinship cases such as sibling issues between two females when the alleged father is absent. It is also optimized to identify female genotypes even in the background of male samples. It can also be used in linkage analysis when the disease gene is located on the X Chromosome The GT XDetector multiplex system is optimized to amplify 17 markers in a single PCR. Along with 15 X Chromosome specific STR markers, one sex discrimination, and one autosomal STR marker are added to rule out sample mix-up. These loci are amplified with fluorescently labeled primers allowing fragment detection in 5-dye systems.

Compatibility​

This kit is compatible with Applied Biosystems™ 3500/xL, 3130/xl, and SeqStudio platforms for detection and analysis. GT XDetector performance has been tested on more than 400 samples.

The kit can be used on DNA extracted from various sources as well as DNA obtained using either hair roots, bone DNA, or direct sample to PCR (extraction free) like GT BLB (Blood Lysis Buffer), and filter papers (GT DBC or GT DBC Blue).

Kit Content

The kit contains all the necessary reagents and buffers for multiplex PCR (Multiplex Primer mix, PCR buffer, GT HSTaq DNA Pol in Box A). Also, the kit comes with GT XDetector Allelic Ladder, GT500 size standard as well as GTM5 Matrix standard for calibrating the Genetic Analyzer (Box B).
