GT Equine

GT Equine kit is developed to provide testing for horse parentage and horse identification. The kit contains 22 STR markers distributed across 17 Equine chromosomes including two additional markers for better sex typing (i.e., AMXY and SRY). Out of these markers, 12 loci are recommended by ISAG (International Society of Animal Genetics). These loci are commonly used for horse parentage testing and identification because of their observed high heterozygosity. This kit is optimized to use DNA samples extracted from blood or hair pulled from the mane or tail of a horse.
